Another Day, Another Book

Another draft complete! Another book soon to be published!

To be honest, I wrote this two weeks ago, and then it seemed as if everything became hectic and here we are… with a blog that should have been published then. Still, I wanted to share the excitement of completing a first draft with you. Things have been progressing at a dizzying pace, so I hope to be able to start sharing details about the story soon. Until then, here is a belated update…

Hello, I hope you are all doing well!

Today I just wanted to give a quick update on my current writing project—I have given hints about it before, but if you didn’t catch them, you might find a few in here.

Anyway, first things first, I finished the first draft of my next book yesterday!!! To be honest, it still hasn’t sunk in fully, but I am very happy with the results.

I started working on the book in mid-October and considering all of the research I had to do for this one… I would say that just over four months is not too bad for a first draft. No matter if you think that is fast or slow, for me that is a pretty good pace because I like to get my first drafts to be as close to the finished product as I can without going overboard. Honestly, this is simply because I prefer drafting to editing. The cleaner the first draft the less time I have to spend in editing mode and the happier I am… even if at times I find myself doing light edits as I go.

As to the book itself, I have mentioned on social media that it is another Pride & Prejudice set novel. Until the book is off with beta readers sometime in the next 1-3 weeks, I am keeping details to a minimum, but a few details about it are:

  • It is a variation of Pride & Prejudice which means characters and events have been played with.

  • It is not much longer than my debut novel, A Red Coat: A Pride & Continuation, but it is faster paced.

  • The main characters are Darcy and Elizabeth.

  • It is ‘closed-door’ in terms of romance, which depending on your preferred terminology means it is a ‘no spice’ or ‘clean’ romance.

I know these are not very detailed hints, but within the next month a lot more will be coming… a title and cover reveal, tropes, and of course, the synopsis.

At this point I have not set a date for publication, however, if at all possible, I hope to be able to share the book itself within 2-3 months’ time. There is a lot of hard work to do the edits, formatting, covers, etc. in that time frame, but I am excited to share this with you all.

Thank you for your support and I will do my best to keep you updated!

Have a wonderful day and be blessed!
